The author's bold approach to administrative law has stimulated thought and discussion amongst all those interested in the subject. The fouth edition aims to continue to help students gain a thorough understanding of this conceptually difficult area of law. There is complete and detailed discussion of the law, placing it within its historical, social and political framework. Administrative policies and judicial decisions are analyzed and the difficult, controversial questions which they raise are explored, with solutions offered. There are comparisons with other jurisdictions, such as the United States. The book has been thoroughly revised, updated and restructured. It incorporates important constitutional developments such as devolution and the Human Rights Act, and changes in the administrative system, as well as a detailed consideration of the recent case law. It includes an expanded discussion of the administrative system which considers the many significant changes introduced by the present government. The discussion of judicial review and remedies has been significantly modified and extended to take account of new case law.
