This is a textbook, second edition, and if gem testing and identification is your thing, this book is excellent. However, the book is beyond the weekend rock hound, unless you?re in an area rich with rubies and diamonds. First tool needed, a wide field binocular microscope, along with your dichroscope. Again, a must for a few.
