Travis McGee is a hard boiled tough guy who, while entertaining, does not quite measure up to Coyne for me. The writing, subject matter and characters are from an earlier time and a bit tired. I can project myself back to my younger years but, the appeal to me suffers from a been there, seen that, done that position.
