Chilling insight into the psyche of two brutal killers by an author who was obsessed (some say in love) with one of the men. A terrifying, gripping read...

wonderful
You have to be able to transport emotionally and be into the mind of not only the writer but the people in the book. I could do this better with a first edition book, and the seller met and exceeded all my expectations with this copy.

riveting read
Although I read this book several years ago, I located it through Alibris and reread it. It was truly one of those books I could not put down. It was not a 'gorefest' - but a fast-moving, gripping story. I could easily picture the participants and locales of all involved. Truman Capote writes this particular book with a southern folksy yet sophisticated choice of words. I'll read this again in the future, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a compelling real life tale.
