Excellent survey of American history
As a history buff, I have looked at many history books. This book is primarily designed as a college text, but it is unusually readable. Unlike many history surveys from more "popular press" sources, this one doesn't have an ideological bias. It states the facts directly and tells the story of our country. Its inclusion of anecdotes makes the reading more interesting (though there were more of these in previous editions, which I assume have been cut for brevity).
Overall an excellent survey of American history that I would highly recommend.
