Seller's Description:
VG. Octavo. Decorative cream colored boards quarterbound in a turquoise colored backstrip with shiny silver foil outline lettering on the spine. Book has a fair amount of bumping at the head and tail of the spine with quite a bit of accompanying rubbing. Light rubbing at the tips of the outside corners but the tip of the lower front outside corner is rubbed through and the tip of the inner board peeks through. White endpapers. Previous owner's name and address on the upper corner of the free front endpaper. Binding is straight and tight. Pages are all clean, white, and crisp. 239 pages. No dust jacket present. This other major work from Rawls is not as well known as his Where the Red Fern Grows, but still a wonderful book, and the basis for the 1998 Michael Anderson film of the same title.

I really enjoyed this book even though it's for younger folks. It is what I would call heart-warming, sensitive, coming of age type book as a young boy is maturing in being a young man!
