Light fading along top edge else Fine in fine dust jacket, not price clipped, with protective mylar cover. Re-creating the famous Voyage of 1897, the Spirit of '98 is setting sail from Skagway, Alaska, en route to Seattle, Washington, on Alaska's breathtaking Inside Passage, carrying two tons of Yukon gold. Alaska State Trooper Alex Jensen and his love, famous female "musher" Jessie Arnold, are among the excited participants. Dressed in period coustoume, Gold Rush buff Alex Jensen is only too happy to be representing the Troopers on this historic journey through a giant maze of scenic straits, harbors, and inlets. When robbery and death strike the ship, Alex must investigate. Historical and geographical details are skillfully woven into the plot. The map and diagram help to identify the location of each scene.

Even while on vacation Jessie Arnold and Alex Jensen can?t seem to get away from mystery. With all the mishaps happening on a small cruise ship everyone knows that the suspect must still be on the boat a room to room search must take place but will they find the person responsible? This is a great book and as always has a lot of early Alaskan history mixed in the mystery.
