I read this as a loan from the library. Early in the book I discovered Serra da aire, vocemece que me quere, Leira and secretum sancti officio .These should have been Serras de aire, vossemece que me quer, Leiria and secretum sancti officii. Air in Portuguese is not aire but ar, and aire is not a common noun but a toponym, the spelling of "vocemece" is wrong, the verb form quere does not exist. Leira, a regional town not far to the north of Lisbon, is spelled Leiria. Sancti offcio is sancti officii, as officii is the correct genitive singular of a 2nd-declension noun.
As Italian and Portuege are closely related Romance tongues, the need for an expert translator is hard to accept.More to the point, on page 375 the verb flaunted is used in place of flouted, more to the point, but my prime objection is the obviously politically correct orientation of the Third Secret, coinciding with messages at Medjugorje. This is hard to see as anything other than pandering to a part of America in opposition to a large part of the country which regards the publicity accorded variant sexualities wrong. The Third Secret will probably serve as entertainment and excitement, but it leaves much to be desired. I would counsel people to consider the worth of literature with such errors within it.

Papal Intrigue
Berry's book falls into a category similar to DaVinci's books, though beginning with religious messages sent via children. The most interesting twist relates to what is contained in the "Third Secret" -- and addresses some key but thorny current Catholic issues. A quick read.

Not "LITERATURE", but WONDERFUL!
What a wonderful book! I completely enjoyed it. It was the fifth by Steve Berry which I have devoured in the last couple of months. This author simply 'speaks to me'. I love his way with geographic and artistic detail. I become immersed in these books. This particular one fascinated me. I have never known enough about the apparitions of Mary. That phenominon is a central point to this novel. I loved it.

Great suspense!
My brother actually lent me this book after I'd read The DaVinci Code, saying that I would enjoy this one if I liked the other. It turns out I liked this book even more. Both books take a bit of liberty with their theories, but Third Secret goes beyond anything DaVinci Code could ever suggest in my opinion. The subject of the book has to do with the three secrets given to the three Portuguese children who were given three secrets from the Virgin Mary. The book concentrates mainly on obviously, the third secret which was revealed by Pope John Paul several years ago. However, the novel suggests the final secret revealed was not the actual secret. I think anyone who enjoys a well written mystery will appreciate this book.
