Excerpt from The British Journal of Homeopathy, 1846, Vol. 4 In 1843, the Prussian Government took into special con sideration this hardship, and from the length of time homeo pathy had existed in that country, and the number of physi eiaus who had adopted it, deemed it expedient to enact, by a Cabinet order signed by the King and three of the ministers, an edict to this effect, that any physician properly qualified for practice, (that is, with the various licenses, ) may himself dispense homeopathic medicines: that he may not do so without a special license from a board of examiners, to consist of persons properly qualified to ascertain his knowledge of botany, chemistry, pharmacy, and the homeopathic method of practice, which board is to be appointed by the Minister of Public Instruction and Medical Affairs: that this license shall be granted only to graduated physicians, not to doctors of surgery, or ordinary surgeons that all homeopathic physicians shall be required to keep a supply of the strong tinctures of the medicines they employ, and also, that they shall keep a register of all the patients they treat, and the.
