A Finer End, set in Glastonbury, England, is one of my favorite three or four in this very good series. The setting is part of why I favor the book, because Glastonbury is a tremendously interesting and historical place. The author always involves the reader in her settings through her descriptions and the great maps printed in the end papers. In hardbound editions, by the way, the maps are much more readable. This author's characters and plots are almost always pleasing and interesting. At this time I have read all but one of Ms Crombie 's books and cannot wait until her newest comes out this fall.
