Originally a decent introduction to analytical thinking, this modern edition has been effectively bowdlerised. Historical references have been updated with a servile eye on political correctness. The earlier editions contained interesting and highly relevant references to contemporary events that might usefully jolt the modern reader's understanding of that time.
The original form was excellent, and still fit for publication.
Final verdict: disappointing, but you could do worse.
