This book is really good if you're a beginner at using Dreamweaver to build Web applications for the first time. It's also really good if you have previous background with other technology than CF.
It's really a book to show you how to use DW with CF, so it won't go deeply into coding (though you have some manual coding starting at about the 2/3 of the book). The authors really assume that you're a beginner (even if it's written intermediate to advanced on the back cover) and teaches every aspect (like I said, of working both with DW and CF... not all aspects of CF language and funtions...).
It's only sad that they never released another version for MX 7 and now 8 (with Dreamweaver MX 2004, 8 and now CS3)...
