Richard Scarry is a great resource for all children. Lots of detail in the books, but not overwhelmingly so. Our son would sit for a half hour looking a single page, then turn and enjoy the next. I bought this for him now as an adult. Don't think he will need to take so long with each page now...

Great Vocabulary Builder
This book is the best I have seen for stimulating children and increasing their vocabulary skills and curiosity. My son had one that he wore the covers off when he was a toddler (25 years ago), and now his daughter has one. I even used one in my special education classroom to help teach vocabulary.

Learning words
This book is a fun and interesting way to learn to read English words. We had this book in my house when I was a child growing up. Now I have purchased this book for two close friends who have small children in Denmark. These children will eventually have to learn English in school and this book is great first step in that process.
The way the book is set up, it is easy to tackle English vocabulary in small segments. The pictures are interesting and capture kids' attention. The small story line going along in the book also increases the interest in this book.
