Secondly, it focuses on special needs education, in particular the role of schooling in the development of the autistic child. A study of children as victims of political violence is based on the author's research into the situation in Mozambique in the mid-1990s. A further study of academic stress in higher education includes staff experience of assessment procedures and how lecturers cope with the outcomes of these procedures.
