Great tool for history students
When I went off to college in 1958, I "borrowed" my aunt's version of this book - and I'm still borrowing it. It was a majorly helpful tool in prepping for exams: European history was one of my majors and later of my MA. The way it's organized helps coordinate information in a way generally different from course presentations, but gave me a great background tool. SO, I bought one for each of my families of grandchildren as they approach college...may they find it equally so. Yeah, yeah there's the internet and wikipedia, but importantly, Langner chronologically places events, THEN you can learn the details.
