DANNY is Roald Dahl's ever popular story of a father and son, and the love they have for each other. A marvellous story-teller, a genius at kites, Danny's father is such a good teacher that before he even started school, Danny knew how to take apart an engine and put it together in no time. But this is also the story of the wild adventures they have together. Full of absorbing action and heart-stopping suspense, it is fabulous, irrestistible fun.

This book is actually meant for children, but I couldn't help picking it up to see what the champion of the world would be like. The book captivated me from start to finish, with Danny, a little boy with a wonderful father who raised him single-handedly. The tale brings me lots of joy to remember what it was like with my own father. The plot is clever, bringing lots of unexpected twists and turns. I especially enjoy the part where Mr. Hazell's shiny, silver car is completely ruined before the hunt by groggy pheasants. The story is indeed captured by Dahl well and although many might not consider Danny the champion of the world, he is a champion in his father's eyes.
