Singleton shows that, contrary to popular belief, there is no evidence in the Indian tradition for the kind of health and fitness-oriented ?sana practice that dominates the global yoga scene of the twenty-first century. Although it is a slow read and I only read a few pages at a time, I found it an eye opener. Mr Singleton has researched the material well. He is not playing or choosing a side, but giving well- founded information.
