Text all on maps, which are full-page.Very easy to read.Great to use while reading British history books.Third edition[2002] has 74 new maps, covering the years since the first edition[1968],but older maps not revised, though archaeology has made advances,e.g. in the first 16 maps:50 B.C.-1066 A.D. Similarly later maps on the early economy, the "Black Death"[Plague] of 1333-1369,etc. are a little out -of-date.But the clarity & range of this atlas highly recommend it.
