The emphasis is on efficient and inexpensive methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention programmes. This second edition has been revised and expanded. The sections on onchocerciasis, including Metzican, nutrition and xerophtalmia have been updated and the chapter on trachoma has been revised to include the WHO scheme for grading trachoma.
