I became a fan of McLarty's with his first book Memories of Running. Traveler certainly didn't disappoint me as second books sometimes do. McLarty is able to exquisitely capture growing up in Rhode Island in the 50's. His characters are great and I'm never able to predict how the story will unfold. Having grown up during the time in the book, I was able to identify with many of the characters and that made the book even more enjoyable.
I liked the pace of the book. It never dragged, but you don't have to go back and re-read parts to keep track of the plot.
Ron McLarty is on my list of authors that I will buy each book he writes.
