Ms Penman knowledge of this time period is undeniable, The fleshing out of Justin's life and character, is like coming to know a friend, just a little bit better. The suprises are delightful, seeing characters from her historical novels "pop in", shows her talent as a weaver of tales.
I love it, and wonder if Ms. Penman ever will write something that dose not grab me and keep me spellbound.
