I was sorely disappointed in this book. I expected a serious text. Instead, I got a shiny book, in a "Coffee-Table Format". The content appeared to spoonfeed the reader. Instead of inviting serious thinking, it tells the reader what the conclusions are, while being skimpy on the evidence. I thought that the presentation was at a level fit for middle school students. However, I've been told by college professors that this is standard fare for college freshmen. This low level of expectation from college students probably excuses the authors and the publishers; nonetheless to me it is a disappointment.
