This is the third in the excellent series of young adult books by Arthur Ransome. By turns suspenseful, exciting and educational (you'll learn a lot about sailing and navigating even if you know nothing about either coming in.), this is as good a pirate/ adventure novel as has been written because it's also so true to life. The children sailing along with their uncle never guess they could really fall into a treasure hunt or fight pirates, so when it happens it's a surprise to them as much as the reader used to reading about their smaller adventures over their summer holidays in the first two books. Recommend this book highly -- could even make a child turn off the Pirates of Caribbean to read it instead.
