The text contains abundant numerical data of properties of fluids and solids used in fluid film lubrication not normally readily available to engineering design people. The text features ample design information which should be helpful to the design of journal and thrust bearings. The physical interpretation of relevant equations are given. Material has been thoroughly class-tested at a variety of schools.
