The writing in this book is incredible! Amazing amount of detail given to each of the characters, settings and events. It couldn't be better written than if the author was actually present himself to witness the events. The story is captivating--even for someone such as I that is not generally drawn to this type of book. My husband is reading it aloud to us, so we are sharing it together. A "must read" for anyone interested in reading about World War II.
