ISBN/EAN: 9780007105021 An excellent example of this limited edition collectable slipcased set. The Hobbit is the 60th anniversary of the original publication edition, originally issued in 1997. The Lord of the Rings is the originally issued 1991 edition produced to commemorate the centenary of Tolkien's birth. There are 50 full-colour illustrations by Alan Lee throughout the books, as well as the front and back illustrations featured on the slipcase. This is a beautiful set for any collector or fan. The books are in near fine condition and feel barely used. The book jackets both grade near fine, with minor crimping to edges where the books have been slid in and out of the box. The box itself is near fine, with some slight wear along the top seam which looks to be a production issue. It has been kept primarily as a display piece, so is in remarkably good condition. I do not use stock photographs, so the pictures are of the actual item for sale. More can be provided on request.
