The catalogue presents a selection of works dating from 1985 to 2009 and introduces a total of 19 sculptures comprising 37 individual figures. N? rgaard achieved recognition in the 1960s through Happenings (in some cases with Joseph Beuys), and since the 1970s has been working predominantly on sculptures and mural decorations, and most recently avant-garde architecture. This publication presents diverse environments, including some of his archaic-seeming large-scale sculptures reminiscent of Aztec temple figures.
