Book. Quartos, Two Volumes. In Very Good minus condition with Good plus dust jackets. Sunned light brown spines with black text. Housed in publisher's Very Good minus black paper slipcase. Slipcase shows mild edge and shelf wear. Dust jackets show sunning to spines, chipping to spine edges, and light foxing to rear flaps. Volume 2 dust jacket has light soiling along front joint. Textblocks have rubbing to tail edges and foxing to edges. Shelved Room A. Volume I 322 pages. Volume II 124 pages with 1166 black and white illustrations on [400] plates. From the collection of Silvio Bedini. Bedini spent twenty five years at the Smithsonian Institution, serving as curator in the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering in the new Museum of History and Technology (now the National Museum of American History) before serving as first Assistant Director then Deputy Director of the National Museum of History and Technology. He then served as Keeper of Rare Books at the Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology, a branch of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, before becoming a Historian Emeritus.
