Tony Towle

Tony Towle was born in New York in 1939, grew up in Queens and Westchester and then spent three years in Washington, D.C. He came back to New York in 1960, shortly after he began writing poetry, and has lived there ever since. He has written about his life in New York in the early sixties in his Memoir 1960-63 . A quintessential poet of the New York School and the city of New York itself, winner of awards from the NEA, NYSCA, Ingram Merrill and many others.
