Sarvani Gooptu
Sarvani Gooptu is Professor of Asian literary and cultural studies at Netaji Institute for Asian Studies, Kolkata. Her areas of research focus on nationalism and culture in Asia. Her published works include Knowing Asia, Being Asian (2021); The Actress in the Public Theatres of Calcutta (Primus Books, 2015); and The Music of Nationhood: Dwijendralal Roy of Bengal (Primus Books, 2018) for which she received the Hiralal Award for Best Woman Historian at the Indian History Congress in 2019.
