Lady Florence Dixie

Lady Florence Dixie (1855-1905) was a Scottish feminist, novelist, and war correspondent. Born in Dumfries, Scotland, she was the daughter of Archibald Douglas, Marquess of Queensberry, and his wife Caroline Margaret Clayton. As a girl, Florence was inseparable from her twin brother James and spent much of her youth swimming, hunting, and riding with her brothers.
