A veteran hiker and outdoorsman, John Henry has worked every summer season in Cathedral Park for twelve years. Since childhood, he has been preoccupied by the natural world, beginning with birdwatching in the woods during his childhood in England. After spending a number of years globetrotting, visiting the Alps, the Himalayas, and parts of Australia and South America, Henry has had the chance to observe all sorts of different geographic zones-yet none that fascinate him so much as Cathedral Park. He has lived in Princeton, B.C., for over forty years, where he spends much of his time hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and observing nature. Sometimes, he combines these passions by leading hikes for small groups of locals, showing them plants, animals, rocks, or landscapes of interest en route. He is a member of BC Nature and Vermilion Forks Field Naturalists (VFFN), and lives with his wife, Mary, with whom he has two children and four grandchildren. They first took their son up to Cathedral Park when he wasn't yet even three (he walked all the way!), and have since been delighted to show two of their grandkids the park, too. See less
