Frances Mountford

Frances Mountford spent her early years following her father round his farm and taking pleasure in the animals, machinery, flowers and horses, many of which she sketched. After qualifying as a teacher in Cheltenham, Frances went to the USA where her husband was working and enjoyed studying the different flora and fauna there. After qualifying as a teacher in Cheltenham, Frances went to the USA where her husband was working and enjoyed studying the different flora and fauna there. On her return to the UK three years later, her work was published in various magazines.
