Acie cargill is a Pulitzer nominated author. He studied poetry with American Poet Laureate Mark Strand and Illinois Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Brooks. Thomas Berger, the author of Little Big Man, mentored him in prose writing and drama. Acie studied journalism with Jean Daily. His writing style is a blend of all their styles and of course, his own. Acie is a member of American Mensa and formerly edited the Mensa Journal of poetry. He has published over twenty books. He is a former physician, a vegetarian and an animal rights activist, especially wildlife. He has been active in environmental causes aimed at making the earth a better place for the future. He is also a songwriter and performer and has over 500 songs for sale on the internet. Some years back he was nominated for a Grammy award for traditional folk music.
