Wow. Another great mystery/romance from Mindy Starns Clark. Her stories are multi-layered but easy to follow. It introduces you to Cajun culture through a treasure hunt by following a recipe in an attempt to clear the name of a young woman charged with murder. It is a bit typical at the end where the bad guy confesses how and why he did it before he locks them in a mine, instead of just shooting them. Of course, they work together to escape, but I still found it to be a book I couldn't put down. Each chapter ended with the heroine in deeper trouble than the chapter before. It also cuts back to France 300 years earlier to show how the treasure ended up in Louisiana.
Very good book.
