I purchased this book because we were thinking about doing a wizard of oz play. This helped me to understand all the hard work and dedication as well as a few surprises along the way of filming. A book definately recommended for any fan. Although I watch this film every year it was nice to see what really happened behind the scenes of such a famous film.

Plagued with Inaccuracies
I first got this book when I was 10 years old and thought it was amazing, however, as I grew up, I learned that this book was plagued with inaccuracies. True, most of the inaccuracies are minor, however, they are incorrect altogether. This book can give you some good info if you are a well-read Oz fans as you can most-likely decipher what is accurate and what is not. If you are looking for a good book to read about the creation of THE WIZARD OF OZ, I would suggest checking on THE WIZARD OF OZ: THE OFFICIAL 50th ANNIVERSARY PICTORIAL HISTORY by John Fricke.
