Fortunately the little girl falls in love with him and it doesn't matter one bit to her that he's wonkey. One day the little girl doesn't come home and her father is thrown into a panic. The wonkey donkey wastes no time in going to find her but the final rescue of the little girl who has fallen into the river is too much for him and he breathes his last on the river bank. A statue is built to pay testament to the wonkey donkey's bravery.
