YES!
My dad was a tail gunner in WWII and flew 30 missions over occupied territory. This book is the perfect depiction of what it was like for these men and boys who flew the B24s. This is coming from my dad who also read the book.

The Wild Blue
AN excellent account of the men and boys who flew B-24s over Europe during WW II.
The book is filled with accounts of young boys who were transformed into men
as a result of the deadly missions they flew.

Biography?
This book is a semi-biography on George McGovern and has little to do with B-24 war-wide missions. Poor read.

Excellent - with just the right description.
My husband, who is not a heavy duty book reader, couldn't put it down. Stephen E. Ambrose is a fabulous author.
