For some people, the beginning of the book might be a little slow -- if you're already up to speed in some obscure topics, such as Garbandal, Fatima, Lourdes, etc. If you are, "part 1" is a refresher course. The most important part of part 1 is, of course, "The Warning" which is an illumination of conscience; of our past deeds in the natural, divine light of Christ.
"Part 2" (these are informal designations by me) was fantastic! About 20 (I think) personal accounts of "illuminations of conscience" (mini-warnings). I can't imagine how hard it was for the author to round these up. They're very rare, as far as I know. I mean, many die and have mini-warnings which are also called "life reviews." But some of these mini-warnings are without dying at all. This is something I wasn't aware was even possible. I don't want to ruin it for you, but some of these personal accounts are really incredible! As with "live reviews" and the NDE, these experiences are dramatic, powerful and transformative. People are never the same after such experiences.
Part 3 was better than 1, but not as good as 2. It brings the reader up to speed with current theological thought and thinkers. I read the whole book in two days, I think. By which I mean to say it was good, and hard to put down.
