A new classic
Sibley, well known for his birding books, has "branched out" into trees with this book which is nearly as good as his birding books, which are top flight-probably the best you can carry in the field. The Trees illustrations rate a 90. The text is nearly as strong with probably an 85. Remember, you can't carry a book into the field with all the information-the weight of the book would cripple a camel. The best part of this book is the first section which tells how trees are classified and identified. Its a must for any newcomer who wants to learn more about trees and their place in our lives. This book is an absolute must reference for anybody who sees, lives near or plans to visit a tree within their lives here on Earth.
