Size is great for carry, but not so small as to degrade detail of drawings, etc. Use it in the house to identify birds at feeders as well as in the field while canoeing and hiking.
No negatives whatsoever!

Another good field guide
I have many field guides, I waited to get the Sibley guide. I've heard a lot of people rave about this guide. It's a good guide, but I wouldn't rate it quite so high. Illustrations are nice, but have sort of a cookie cutter quality. It's a good edition to any collection,though, primarily for the detail of different plumages.

A Must Have
This morre compact Sibley's is easy to carry with you and has a good protective cover. It is very informative for birders at all levels-Good birding!!!
