This book was good for its time. I especially recommend the section about the grilling Hamer got at Harvard. This is their favorite custom--inviting notables and then trying to discredit them. Makes them feel better, but Harvard has been second rate for a long time (which is really why they continue in this ritual). Harvard is, after all, an old-boy network with a name, so they don't have to worry about pursuing excellence. Other institutions, like the ones Hamer was with, try harder and get less credit.
The results by Hamer haven't been entirely confirmed, but Hamer did make some good contributions.
