Another of J. Chiaverini's "comfy," yet challenging, books. She rather skillfully weaves two stories into one - one tracing the family history through a variety of pangs and pleasures, and the other a modern-day search by Sylvia, the focus character, for not only the family quilts, but answers to questions about those family members.
My only problem with the story - the one of the family in the past - is her use of known historical events which comes across as somewhat trite. But that is a personal opinion, and would not stop me from suggesting that my friends - and others - curl up with this book on a warm summer day.

The main character of this book is certainly a plucky lady. Sylvia travels cross country, via motorhome, to try to locate her mothers quilts, missing from the family for many years. The folks she meets, and places she visits really lend to the intrigue and adventure of the quilt hunt. Another "warm fuzzy" tale from our favorite quilt author, Jennifer Chiaverini.
