this is immersive fiction at its best. accessible, relatable and familiar while exploring the fascinating world of quilting and quilters. even if you know nothing about quilting, you will enjoy the warm embrace of the cast of believable and very human characters which you end up caring about quite deeply. blending historical fiction with observations on modern life and family dynamics this novel takes ordinary people living ordinary lives and creates an unlikely page-turner. the fact that the characters are so real and so recognizable belies the author's skill at both setting and dialog. this slim novel hooked me (and thousands of other readers) so completely that I went on to read many of Ms. Chiaverini's subsequent books in this series. the rare novel that entertains, informs and leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

A pleasant read
As a quilter, I picked this book up because of the title. Discovered an author who has a knowledge of quilts and their history, as well as talent for spinning a good tale. Anyone with a passing interest in quilts, will enjoy this book, and perhaps be encouraged to try their hand at quilting.

too predictable
It was a simple book; way too predictable for my tastes.

I found this book very enjoyable reading.. It made me want to read the rest of the books in this series. It also gave me the urge to try quilting which I have often admired but never had the nerve to try. It is easy to relate to the characters in the story and often you get so involved that you want to offer your advice to them. t is a totally enjoyable read and at the same time it is an easy and relaxing read. When you finish the Quilter's Apprentice you really feel compelled to read the next book to see what happens to the characters next. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the books in the series.

I've read the first six 'Quilt Camp' books and have loved every one of them. Each one has been an easy, interesting read - especially fun for those of us who enjoy a good story and also quilt! I will definitely read the rest of Ms. Chiaverini's books.
