Eight photogravures with tissues throughout. Coverage of the Second Boer War by popular newspaper The Illustrated London News. This issue covers the campaign and some of the battles. There are also articles on Women and the War, as well as, Medical Officers. The Illustrated London News was the world's first illustrated weekly newspaper; the first published on May 14, 1842. It was published weekly until 1971 and then increasingly less frequently until publication ceased in 2003. This is an oversized or heavy book that requires additional postage for international delivery outside of Canada and the US.
