I liked this book because I am interested in the terribly difficult life my ancestors must have lived on the Texas frontier. This book is somewhat disjointed, but it rings true to the education level of people of that era and the terribly demanding lives they led. I really felt for Sarah's health problems. I do not know how she endured. I recommend this book if you are looking for a true account of frontier life.
