This is the first book in what's to be a 10 book series. The first 4 books are complete and are a wonderful adventure so far. Robert McCammon is top notch as usual.

Good Read
McCammon wrote a good and entertaining story. Had pirates, a witch trial, Indians, lots of really bad guys, some who might be bad but really weren't and, of course, the devoted, well-meaning intelligent hero to sort everything out.
Book is long but worth reading all 792 pages.
