This one was pretty weird, but what do you expect with aliens? An interesting diversity of characters in a small town and how they deal with extraordinary circumstances. Kept interest and had a lot of surprises.

Great SciFi and Horror Mix
Stinger is about a small town in the American Southwest stuck in the desert with nothing to do until the day Dauphin arrives from beyond the stars. Dauphin is running from a race of creations that have enslaved her race and are harvesting her world. She inhabits the body of a little girl and is cute and precocious. Unfortunately the being chasing her isn't quite as accomodating. He is Stinger a bounty hunter sent to get Dauphin back no matter what and he will kill, maim, and destroy anything that gets in his way. He takes town people and transforms them into his drones to do his bidding. The survivors not only have to decide if they can stop Stinger but even if they should. A page turner and one of McCammon's best works.
