Michelle Berriedale-Johnson studied history at Trinity College, Dublin before starting her own catering business specializing in historic feasts. She is the author of a number of food history titles. In the late 1980s, having sold the business to concentrate on writing and broadcasting, Michelle became involved in food allergy and nutrition when her own family were diagnosed as dairy intolerant. Since then she has worked as a writer, publisher and a food consultant, devising therapeutically, nutritionally and gastronomically acceptable dairy, gluten, egg free dishes both for individuals and for commercial production. Michelle is a regular guest on radio and TV (Woman's Hour, You and Yours, BBC Good Food Live etc). She is a past chair of the Guild of Food Writers, was a steering committee member of the FLAG Food Labeling Campaign, and is active in a number of allergy charities and organizations.
