Valuable History Lesson
James Bentley's biography of the great German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoeller is very knowledgable and very readable as well. He paints a vivid picture of the unusual life of Niemoeller, who was a U-boat captain in WW I, became then a pastor and one of Hitler's bitterest adversaries, barely escaping execution during the latter days of WW II.
